Davis Waterfall and Gupteswor Cave are created by nature itself in one of the stalactite caves. The carved images of gods and the strongly falling waterfall are very impressive.

We have a whole day ahead of us to see and feel the wonders of the Kathmandu Valley. We have incorporated all the iconic locations acknowledged by UNESCO as sites of World Heritage status. Please remember that the order of our visit listed here might differ from the actual tour schedule.
Pashupatinath is the Hindu temple complex where you can see the ancient stone statues (7 to 8 centuries), wandering sadhus saints, and observe the Hindu funeral custom at the shore of Bagmati.
The Buddhist stupa of Boudhanath that contains the relics of a Buddhist sage, parts of the Buddha’s body, sacred texts, and other ceremonial objects. Each hand turn of the prayer wheel is equal to reciting the mantra carved on it eleven thousand times.
The Swayambhunath (more than 2 thousand years old) on a hilltop in the west of Kathmandu said to be blessed by all Buddhas is truly the source of happiness for the whole world.
The Durbar Square of Bhaktapur that houses a replica of the holiest of Kathmandu’s temples, which has the famous erotic figures. Here you find, among other things, the famous palace with 55 windows with some of the finest woodcarving in the valley as well as the valley’s highest and only 5-storied pagoda: Nyatapola on Taumadi Tole.
In the evening, we will enjoy the vibe of Thamel and enjoy the traditional dinner with Nepalese cuisine and dancing.
Attention
If you are interested, we can organize a breathtaking one-hour Everest view mountain flight during your stay in Kathmandu. During the flight you will see the highest structure literally under your feet- Everest (8848 m), Makalu (8463 m), Lhotse (8516 m), Shisha-Pagma (83 m), and many more. Family Tour in Nepal - Trip Information
All three cities of Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Chitwan enjoy a temperate climate that ensures pleasant weather year-round. In winter, the heat remains relatively mild, ranging from 19 to 21 degrees Celsius, with plenty of sunshine to brighten the days.
Nights, however, can be quite chilly, falling to around 0 to 1 degree Celsius. The heat however intensifies during the summer months from March through July with temperatures reaching 35 to 40 degrees Celsius, paired with heavy downpours preventing any outdoor fun.
Therefore, except for June, July, and August, all other periods are best for our family tour in Nepal. February to April is the best period for observing wild animals due to the low grass, which can effectively hide animals later. October to December is the time of the best air transparency when you can see the Himalayas best.
We understand that when you travel abroad with your family, safety and ease come first. Our family tour in Nepal is therefore an ideal choice, that features comfortable private transport for all your travel needs.
There is a medium walk to Ghandruk, but if you prefer, you can take a jeep ride to avoid it. In addition, your stays throughout the tour will be in comfortable hotels and lodges, so you won’t have to compromise on comfort or amenities.
This tour is therefore the easiest and simplest way to experience the essence of Nepal allowing you to create lasting memories with your children, parents, and even grandparents.
Every journey to Nepal requires a tourist visa which can be easily acquired on the day you arrive at TIA in Kathmandu. The Visa acquisition is also possible if you are landing at Pokhara International Airport or Gautam Buddha International Airport.
To minimize your waiting time in line at TIA for your Visa, you can visit the official website of the Nepal Immigration Office (English version) and fill out the online application form.
Once you enter all the details, upload your passport and photo scanned copies and print the sheet confirming your Visa Application. Remember, your passport must have a valid date for at least six months on your arrival day in Nepal.
Present your printed confirmation and your passport to the immigration department of airport, and after paying the accurate Visa fee, you will have your Tourist Visa on hand.
The cost of a tourist visa for Nepal is different which depends on how long you are going to stay in Nepal: for 15 days, it’s 30 USD; for 30 days, it’s 50 USD; and for 90 days, it’s 125 USD. If you like to increase the date of your visa, you can do so by contacting the Office of Immigration in either Kathmandu or Pokhara.
Visa extensions start at 45 USD for a minimum of 15 days, with an extra charge of 3 USD for each additional day. If you happen to overstay by less than 150 days, a late fee of 5 USD per day will apply. Additionally, children under 10 years old, except for those from the US, can enjoy a Gratis Visa free of charge.
Our family tour in Nepal itinerary includes a visit to Ghandruk Village, where we will stay for a night. This village is situated in the Annapurna Conservation Area for which we need to have the ACAP (Annapurna Conservation Area Permit) and TIMS (Trekkers’ Information Management System) card.
Our guide will arrange for these permits through the NTB Office (Nepal Tourism Board) in capital or Pokhara. The ACAP fee is roughly USD 26 (NPR 3000) for each person, and the TIMS card is about USD 15 (NPR 2000) for each person. These permits’ cost is part of our service package.
In addition, we must also pay the minimal entrance fees for various sites (temples, monuments, Durbar Square, parks, Davis Falls, etc) in Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Chitwan.
The cost is however not part of our package cost due to the minimal amount ranging from USD 5 to USD 10 per person.
During your travel days in Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Chitwan, you will live in comfortable three-star tourist hotels, sharing a twin room for a friendly atmosphere. You will experience one night in the mountain lodge of Ghandruk.
With a diversity in dining options in Kathmandu and Pokhara, we will only serve breakfast here. You are free to select your own lunch and dinner spots. In Chitwan and Ghandruk, we will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Don’t forget to taste the delightful Tharu dishes in Chitwan and the flavorful Gurung cuisine in Ghandruk.
We will offer you all hotel and airport transfers for both international and domestic flights according to our family tour in Nepal itinerary. You will have private ground transportation for the entire route with options such as cars, vans, jeeps, coasters, or Sutlej, depending on how many are in your group. Additionally, we will also provide jeep transport for the picturesque journey between Pokhara and Ghandruk.
Many international SIMs will offer the roaming service in Nepal but the cost of roaming calls is high, which is why you can buy a Nepali SIM (NCell and NTC) card to make calls and text messages and use the internet at a much cheaper cost.
WiFi can be easily connected everywhere in Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Chitwan which are often for free usage. In Ghandruk however, a minimal cost of $3 to $5 may have to be paid.
There will be sockets available in every room in hotels and lodges for charging your equipment. The mountain shelter in Ghandruk can charge $2 to $3 per hour for charging but the service is free in the three cities.
Although most of our travel program during our family tour in Nepal is concentrated in three larger cities of Nepal, we will still be spending a day and night at Ghandruk. The mountain village because of its locality inside the Annapurna region needs special permission for which proof of your insurance policy is a must.
Additionally, when traveling in any foreign country, no matter how well-developed and accessible the infrastructure is, you can still encounter a range of health issues. Such as colds, respiratory infections, digestive troubles, or even injuries.
On rare occasions, you may even require the help of rescue services or an air ambulance. Therefore, we recommend you obtain travel insurance that will ease your financial burden in these circumstances and protect you against theft, flight cancellations, or prolonged stays.
The only official money used in Nepal is the Nepalese Rupee which comes in paper notes and coins as well. There is no need to exchange your money right at TIA since we will be on hand to pick you up from the airport.
If you have a large amount to exchange, we suggest you head to banks like Standard Chartered, Nepal Rastra Bank, Himalayan Bank, Everest Bank, Nabil, or SBI. They charge only a minimal government commission for the exchange.
You can withdraw money from ATMs in Kathmandu and Pokhara, however, remember that international withdrawals come with a 500 to 700 rupees tax.
To avoid extra fees, we suggest you withdraw a larger sum such as 10,000 to 30,000 rupees which will be quite enough to cover the cost of lunches, dinners, and drinks (USD 25 to USD 30 every day) cost during the family tour in Nepal.
You can also pay by card in hotels and shops in Kathmandu and Pokhara but we suggest against it as each transaction can cost between 3.5% and 4% depending on the bank, adding to the total bill.
