Introduction of Everest Base Camp Premium Luxury Trek

The Everest Base Camp Premium Luxury Trek is one of the best luxury treks you can go for. It is the perfect combination of luxury and trek since you will get to experience both in just the right amount. If you know anyone who has done the standard Everest Base Camp trek, there is only one thing that they do not like about it, the accommodation.

Accommodation in the highlands of Nepal is not something people tend to be a fan of because of the lack of facilities. The highlands are not easily accessible which makes it harder for establishments to provide even the basic facilities such as good internet, attached bathrooms, heaters for bedrooms, and toiletries such as sanitizer, toilet paper, etc. The only way to avoid this unavailability is to go for a luxury trek.

Our Everest Base Camp Premium Luxury Trek covers all the lacking aspects of the standard EBC trek. We will go above and beyond to provide you with the luxury that is basically unheard of in the Himalayas. In addition to luxury nights in the highlands, this trek package also offers charter helicopter rides.

First, we will fly to Lukla from Kathmandu, after some days of trekking, we will fly to EBC from Dingboche followed by a helicopter ride to Kala Patthar, Kondge, and lastly Lukla. The helicopter rides cut the standard EBC trekking days in half. You just have to trek for 5 days to reach Dingboche from where the helicopter rides start.

The Everest Base Camp Premium Luxury Trek offers a unique trekking experience with helicopter rides which makes it an easy trekking experience, suitable for beginners and first-timers as well. Unlike the standard EBC trek, this luxury trek is more focused on making your time in the Himalayas as facilitated as possible.

To learn all about this amazing luxury trekking experience, make sure to read the article all the way through as we discuss all the potential aspects.

Everest Base Camp Premium Luxury Trek Detail Itinerary

01

A scenic flight over the hills of Nepal will bring you to Kathmandu, the capital city. During your flight, you will be able to see a couple of mountain peaks and the entire Kathmandu valley. Once your flight lands at the Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be directed towards the immigration booth to work out your Nepalese tourist visa.

There you will have to submit your proof of stay, 2 passport-size photos, and proof of return, along with your valid passport. Once you are done with this, our representative will meet you outside the terminal and take you to your 5-star accommodation for the night.

While at the hotel, we will collect all the necessary documents including your travel insurance, tourist visa permit, and passport. Don’t worry, we only need a copy of those documents, not the original thing.

After a relaxing luxury night in Kathmandu, we will fly to Lukla in the morning. Flights to and from Lukla are generally done in the morning since the highlands are prone to strong winds as the day progresses. Basically, flights to Lukla in the afternoon are not an option.

Riding a Shared Charted Helicopter, we will reach Lukla in about 45 minutes which is a short and scenic flight. During your helicopter flight, you will see peaks like Lhotse, Ganesh Himal, Ama Dablam, Cho Oyu, and more along with a wide view of the entire Khumbu valley. The scenes on this ride are really something to cherish for years. Some people do helicopter rides to Lukla just to enjoy the views from up above.

Once we reach Lukla, we will grab our bags, and get going to Yeti Mountain Home, our luxury stay for the night. Keep in mind that luxury accommodations in the highlands are not on par with the ones in Kathmandu since getting things to such a hardly accessible area is a challenge.

Yeti Mountain Home is a chain of luxury accommodations available in the lower region of Khumbu Valley.

The 3rd day of the Everest Base Camp Premium Luxury Trek is when you will finally get some action. We will begin our day by having a filling breakfast at last night’s stay which will fuel us for the upcoming trek to Namche. On today’s trek, we will follow the Dudh Koshi River upstream and eventually cross it many times over, crossing hanging suspension bridges to reach Namche. Once we reach Namche, you will instantly understand why it is nicknamed the ‘Sherpa Capital’.

Namche is a vibrant town set in the hills of the Khumbu region, where the Tamang and Sherpa communities mainly reside. This town is the hub of the Khumbu region offering a wide range of eateries, cafes, pubs, trekking gear shops, and more. We will stay in Yeti Mountain Home once again as they provide the most luxury in this hardly accessible highland town.

To acclimate well to the Everest Base Camp Premium Luxury Trek, we will hike to the Everest View Hotel. This is a standard hike taken by most trekkers to acclimatize to the change in surroundings and altitude. The best thing to do in order to avoid altitude sickness is to climb high and sleep low. We will start the trek early and after having plenty of breakfast. You should not skip breakfast in the highlands as they are your power source for ascending the trails of the Everest Base Camp Premium Luxury Trek.

The path to Everest View Hotel is not that difficult but since it is a mountain ascend, it will be a little harder compared to the same path at a lower altitude. High-altitude trekking is difficult as the amount of oxygen in the air decreases as we ascend which makes it harder for the body to regulate oxygen in the blood, making us tired easily.

As we reach Everest View Hotel, we will get to see a panoramic view of Everest along with Nuptse, Ama Dablam, and Lhotse. We will spend some time at Everest View Hotel before heading back down. After we get back to Nachme, we will promptly get on the path to Khumjung where we will have our lunch and visit the Khumjung Monastery where a Yeti skull is on display.

Yeti is a mythical mountainous creature much like Bigfoot. The proposed appearance of Yeti is the same as Bigfoot; the creature is unusually tall, hairy, and has white fur. Following a brief time at the monastery we will once again head back to Namche where we will spend the night in Yeti Mountain Home.

The 5th day of the Everest Base Camp Premium Luxury Trek is a bit tougher than the last day as we will be covering more distance over well-maintained trails. Along the way, we will be offered a fantastic view of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam which will be the highlight of the day.

Our first stop of the day will be at Phungi Thenga, a popular lunch stop in the Everest region. Stopping at popular stops guarantees a variety of food options to choose from and the availability of different amenities. Enjoying the scenic treat the village offers, we will wait for our freshly cooked food to be served. After lunch, we will rest for a while before hitting the trail again to reach Deboche.

Continuing our trek, we will cross the Dudh Koshi River once again to get on the trail to Tengboche. The name Dudh Koshi River translates to Milk River which is a fitting name for its creamy water that is a result of glacier silt mix. After crossing the suspension bridge we will climb to the Tengboche Monastery, spend some time here, check out the site, and continue ascending to Deboche.

The last 20 minutes of the trek will be downhill which will take us to Deboche. We will spend the night in a luxury hotel named Rivendell.

Day 6 of the Everest Base Camp Premium Luxury Trek is anything but boring. We are in for a 5 to 6 hours of trek reaching an altitude of 4410 meters above sea level from Deboche (3710 m). Since we will be gaining significant altitude today, we have to take it slow and steady, there is no need to rush, and rushing the trek actually gets us in trouble (altitude sickness).

Along the way, we will see many Mani walls along with Chortens (small stupas). Enjoying the scenes and the calming Buddhist culture, we will first reach lower Pangboche form where we will reach Upper Pangboche. On the way to Upper Pangboche, we will visit the Pangboche Gompa which is a really aesthetic monastery with intricate exterior and vibrant interior influenced by the Tibetan Buddhism tradition.

After about 50 minutes of further trek, we will reach the village of Shomare where we will have our lunch. We will continue the Everest Base Camp Premium Luxury Trek after lunch and cross the Lobuche River before reaching a 30-minute ascend to Dingboche.

We will stay at Hotel Bright Star for the night or at a hotel of a similar standard if our first choice is unavailable at the moment.

Day 7 of the Everest Base Camp Premium Luxury Trek is yet another acclimatization day, 2nd acclimatization day to be precise. Today, we will be climbing the Nagarjun Hill with an altitude of 5100 meters above sea level. We will begin our hike early in the morning, at around 7 AM since we have to hike up to 5100 meters which is time-consuming.

For over 3 hours, we will be walking an ascending trail accompanied by the views of Ama Dablam, Lobuche East, Taboche Peak, Thamserku, Lobuche West, and Kangtega. We will ascend for another 30 minutes over a slightly easy trail to reach the top of the hill. The view from there is worth every sweat you break in the process. Descending back to Dingboche will take us about 2 hours.

We will have our lunch in Dingboche after which you can spend the rest of the day strolling around the village, watching the villagers go about their day. July to October is the main farming season in the highlands of Nepal, so if you are doing the Everest Base Camp Premium Luxury Trek during that specific period, you will be able to witness the traditional farming activities. Potatoes and buckwheat are the main produce of the cold and dry highland.

The locals of the regions are very friendly and will invite you to join in on the activities they are doing. They always greet you with a smile or just smile if they do not know that much English to have a chat with you. Most of the highland locals are not well-versed in English, they just know a couple of phrases and words. Your trek guide is the bridge that fills this communication gap, not just while talking to random villagers but also lodge and hotel owners.

Day 8 is your last day in the highlands of the Khumbu region. Starting the day off, we will fly to the famous Everest Base Camp. We will spend about 15 minutes at EBC, taking a couple of pics, and taking in the scene. Following that, we will fly to Kalapatthar for the best view of the Everest peak along with many other neighboring peaks in the region.

The helicopter will land at Kalapatthar for a short period of time before flying out to Kongde. On the way to Kongde, we will fly over the Gokyo Lakes. The pristine opal lake of Gokyo will look stunning from high above paired with the white peaks in the surroundings. Once we reach Kongde, we will have our celebratory lunch with champagne and some starters before heading out to Lukla.

Our journey today does not stop at Lukla, we will get a 45-minute flight to Dulikhel from Lukla, which is where we will spend the night. We will stay at Dhulikhel Dwarika Resort for the night.

After spending a luxurious night at Dhulikhel Dwarika Resort, we will get on a private vehicle to Kathmandu. We will cover a distance of 31 kilometers over a period of one hour. Day 9 of the Everest Base Camp Premium Luxury Trek is dedicated to exploring the Kathmandu Valley and visiting the major attractions within the valley.

Bhaktapur Durbar Square

Durbar is the Nepalese word for the royal palace, the Bhaktapur Durbar Square is an ancient royal palace that used to be home to the Malla kings who ruled the Bhaktapur region for almost 400 years. Their reign came down after the unifier of Nepal, Prithvi Narayan Shah, attacked them in 1769 AD.

At present, the Bhaktapur Durbar Square is a major tourist attraction site visited by tens of thousands of international and local tourists every year. The UNO recognized this site as having high historical value and listed it on the UNESCO World Heritage list.

The Bhaktapur Durbar Square is the biggest among the three historical Malla palaces around the Kathmandu valley. The other two are Kathmandu Durbar Square and Patan Durbar Square. “Dubar Square” is the term used to refer to the royal palaces of the Malla kings. The site has been restored and renovated multiple times over the years following disasters like the great 1934 earthquake and the recent 2015 earthquake which destroyed the delicate buildings of the plaza.

Bouddhanath Stupa

This amazing gompa has an even more amazing story to it. As per the legend, the gompa was built by a poor farmer who used to raise chickens. She did not have enough wealth to buy a huge plot of land for building a stupa, so she asked the king for a big plot of land. The king was well known for turning down requests for help but he agreed to her request at once. It’s like the words slipped out of his mouth.

She put all her efforts into building the dome base of the gompa until she passed away eventually. Later, her 4 sons finished the job and completed the gompa. Upon completion, the 4 sons stood in front of the gompa and prayed for their wishes to come true, which eventually did come true.

At present, Bouddhanath Stupa is one of the most important Buddhist sites in Nepal along with being a major attraction. This beautiful white dome sits atop a hill, overlooking the entire Kathmandu valley, warding off evil and bad spirits. Hundreds of devotees and visitors from all over Nepal and internationally visit this site to enjoy the holy and peaceful surroundings. This 12th-century stupa is a must-visit site in Kathmandu.

Pashupatinath Temple

Located on the banks of Bagmati, the Pashupatinath Temple is the center of temples in Kathmandu. This area of the temple also includes a place for burning dead bodies. According to Hindu mythology, burning the dead is the best way to depart the soul; by getting rid of the physical form. Hindus all around the world consider the Bagmati River sacred and cremating the dead ones is a holy ritual that you can witness.

The temple of Pashupatinath comes alive on the night of Shivaratri, Lord Shiva’s night. Basically, any major religious festival is a grand event at Pashupatinath temple. For instance, Teej (women’s national festival in Nepal) is celebrated in a grand way. Devotees from all over Nepal and from India visit this temple to pray to Lord Shiva and wish for health and wealth.

Nagarkot Viewpoint

The viewpoint of Nagarkot is a nearby attraction of the Kathmandu Valley which offers a wide and open scenic treat of the valley. Nagarkot viewpoint is also the gateway to many highland villages of Nepal such as Chisapani, Chapabot, Jure Danda, etc. Nagarkot also offers a couple of accommodation options; if you want to experience sunrise you can stay there.

Farewell Dinner

After a long day of exploring the Kathmandu valley, you are in for a delicious farewell dinner organized by us. Tonight’s dinner will feature champagne and a bunch of traditional Nepalese dishes that are sure to make you fall in love with Nepali cuisine.

Everest Base Camp Premium Luxury Trek - Trip Information

The Everest Base Camp Premium Luxury Trek starts with your arrival in Kathmandu. From Kathmandu, we will get on a shared charted helicopter to get to Lukla, the following morning. Since this is a luxury trek, we will take a charter  helicopter. After getting to Lukla, we will gather our belongings, the porters will carry your heavy luggage while you have to carry a light backpack. We will trek to Phakding from Lukla and spend the night there.

The next day, we will get on the trail to Namche Bazaar, one of the highlights of the Everest Base Camp Premium Luxury Trek. Namche Bazaar is a tiny town set in the middle of hills, towered by high Himalayas in the background. This beautiful town is the hotspot of the Everest region given its aesthetic charm and beautiful character.

From Namche, we will get to Debuche but before that, we will spend a whole day in Namche for acclimatization. The trek to Debuche is a scenic day trek, full of lovely views of the hills and distant peaks. From there, we will trek to Dingboche and the next days has us travel by helicopter to the EBC. We will spend some time at the camp before flying to Kalapatthar and eventually back to Lukla, flying over the Gokyo Lakes.

Our Everest Base Camp Premium Luxury Trek is not an ordinary trek, this package is made for those who want to experience a luxurious trekking experience to the Everest Base Camp. Since our main agenda is to provide a luxurious experience, we have made this trek as easy as possible. But that does not mean that you will be traveling on a helicopter all the way through.

You will be trekking for 6 days in total, walking for an average of 5 hours each day which is not an extremely difficult feat to achieve. But the high altitude is also a factor that adds to the difficulty of the trek. We will trek up to 4100 meters at Dingboche and go for an acclimatization hike to the top of Nagarjun Hill (5100 meters). From then on, we will ride on a helicopter.

With a little trekking and part helicopter rides, we will complete the Everest Base Camp Premium Luxury Trek with ease. On a scale of 10, our guides have rated this trek a 5.

The best seasons for Everest Base Camp Premium Luxury Trek are spring and autumn. During these seasons, the environment, weather, and overall aspects are just right for a successful trek. Summer can be a bit too hot, winter can be freezing in the highlands, and the monsoon brings in leeches and slippery trails but autumn and spring are the best since they offer optimal conditions.

During autumn, the best thing about trekking is the somewhat dry trails, no rainfall, and bright blue clear skies. These characteristics are crucial for a scenic and successful trek. Similarly, spring also possesses the same qualities but it is a little bit more prone to rainfall. Spring is also the time for nature to reset which means that new leaves and buds will grow, resulting in a lush landscape with blooming flowers.

This Everest Base Camp Premium Luxury Trek can basically be done any time throughout the year but summer and winter have their own cons which can result in a slight inconvenience. For example, the temperature in winter goes well below the freezing point during night time which makes it unfavorable.

Yes, the Everest Base Camp Premium Luxury Trek is a beginner friendly trek that is also great for first-timers. It may get a little overwhelming for first-timers and beginners but overall it’s a great journey to add to your portfolio. Generally, we do not recommend the Everest Base Camp trek to beginners as it is a physically demanding trip but since this one is more focused on luxury and convenience, it is an easier version of the standard trek.

This trek is great for those who are physically not able to take on the demands of the standard Everest Base Camp trek. This trek is also good for kids and old people.

Our Everest Base Camp Premium Luxury Trek itinerary does not require trekkers to spend a night over the 5000-meter mark which is considered an alarming elevation for altitude sickness. Our last accommodation on the trek will be at Dingboche, which is 4100 meters above sea level, a safe elevation. From Dingboche, we will fly to Everest Base Camp, Kala Patthar, and ultimately to Lukla.

We do not have to spend a night, in fact, we will spend only a couple of hours above 5000 meters. This keeps us safe from altitude sickness but light altitude sickness starts from 3500 meters. That will not be much of a problem as the effects tend to fade away quite easily.

In the rare case that you suffer from extreme altitude sickness, we will call in a rescue helicopter for you to get you down to the nearest hospital. This is an extra expense that is not a part of the Everest Base Camp Premium Luxury Trek package.

If you have to return to Kathmandu following any cases of illness or accidents, the payment made for the trek will not be refunded under any circumstance.

As the name suggests, this trek package offers luxurious accommodation throughout the journey. In Kathmandu, you will stay at a 5-star hotel for a total of 2 nights, at the beginning of the trek and on the final days. You will also spend a night at Dhulikhel Dwarika Resort after returning from Lukla.

All the accommodation will have attached bathrooms which is very rare in highland hotels. Also, the accommodation we provide is on a twin-sharing basis, meaning one bedroom is to be shared by two members of the group. Luxury is the core of the Everest Base Camp Premium Luxury Trek package so we have arranged the best possible accommodations for you every night.

Food and drinks are also luxurious, you will have the freedom to choose any dish from the menu provided by the establishment that you stay at. While you are in Kongde, we will provide you with a special lunch with champagne to celebrate a successful trip to Everest. We will also provide you with fresh fruits every night along with energy bars while trekking.

Transportation required by our proposed Everest Base Camp Premium Luxury Trek will be covered by the trek package. This includes all the ground transportation, helicopter ride to Lukla, helicopter ride from Dingboche to EBC, EBC to Kongde, and back to Lukla. We will also transport you to and from the international airport. However, this trek package does not cover your international flight expenses.

Sagarmatha National Park entry and Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Area permit are the two permits needed for this Everest Base Camp Premium Luxury Trek. Both of these permits are included in the package and our guide will help you obtain these permits.

Preparing for this Everest Base Camp Premium Luxury Trek is not a tough job to do. Since we have made an itinerary that does not require much trekking, it’s easy to prepare for the trek. You just have to make sure that you can walk for about 5 hours a day without breaking much sweat. If you are someone who is physically active and goes to the gym frequently, you are ready for this trek.

The Everest Base Camp Premium Luxury Trek is priced at USD ________ per person considering all the luxury we offer throughout the trek. We will provide you with high-end accommodation every night of the trip, charted helicopter rides, electric blankets for nights in the highlands, celebratory lunch and farewell dinner, a bunch of toiletries including sanitizer, wet wipes, soap, etc., Nepalese sim cards, porters and guide, oxygen masks and cylinders for emergencies, and much more.

The Everest Base Camp Premium Luxury Trek is a high-end trek package so we will make sure that you do not have any issues charging your devices at all times but we can not guarantee high-speed internet because the highlands of Nepal are not easily accessible for infrastructures to develop to its full potential. However, you will get to connect to sub-par internet services at the luxury lodges you stay at.

Expenses include international flights, visa fees, travel and medical insurance for emergencies, a helicopter for emergency evacuation, additional days in Kathmandu, extra meals, baked goods, soda, alcohol, and other beverages, and anything that is not said to be a part of the Everest Base Camp Premium Luxury Trek package are your extra expenses.
