The best time to visit Nepal and go trekking is during the spring and autumn seasons. These are the months when the weather is most favorable for trekking. Though it is possible to trek in any month in Nepal, certain seasons are better in terms of weather and sentimental views.
Spring (March to May):
One of the best trekking seasons in Nepal is in spring as temperatures are warm, the skies are cloudless, and the rhododendrons blossom. The season also suits trekkers who prefer milder climates since the scenery is breathtaking.
Annapurna Base Camp Trek, Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek, and Langtang Valley Trek are most preferred in the spring season, as they allow views of the mountains while being a good temperature for hiking.
Autumn (September to November):
During autumn the trekking season is highly regarded in Nepal as during this time it is less foggy, plus the air is dry and cool. There is a wide range of temperatures during the peak of the day but cool winter weather is experienced. This is most suitable for trekking around the Himalayan foothills named Everest, Annapurna, and the Manaslu during the autumn.
They are recommendable during the autumn because the scenery is that of the mountains blanketed in snow. The months of October and November are also marked with Tihar and Dashain which add more culture to the trekking experience.
Though spring and autumn are the ideal seasons to trek the mountains, low-altitude treks can be pursued in the winter (December to February), although temperatures may be unbearable at times. The summers i.e., June to August, bring along the monsoon which makes trails and visibility a bit tricky, particularly in the mountains. It is best to avoid trekking during the monsoon if you want to avoid heavy rainfall.
